Christ Cemetery

Notes: It was the first Catholic Cemetery in Cincinnati. It was used even after Christ Church was relocated in 1822. Some of the graves were moved to other Catholic cemeteries when they were opened. Those that remained in 1858 were removed to make way for the construction of St. Francis Seraph Church. After the church was completed the graves and headstones were placed in a special crypt in St. Francis.

St. Peter Cemetery

Notes: The bishop closed the cemetery on September 9, 1849 because the cemetery was burying non-Catholics, a violation of Canon Law. The graves were then moved to St. Joseph's Cemetery (Old) in Price Hill. One source indicates that the cemetery operated as the St. Peter German Independent Cemetery until December, 1870. St. Francis Hospital was built over the site when the property was given to the Sisters of the Poor of St. Francis in 1882.
